First, it is a major component of light steel industrial buildings (mostly single-story, some 2-3 stories), such as roof panels, wall panels, floor panels, beams, columns, purlins (roof and wall), supports, and door and window frames. The general steel usage is about 40 kg/square meter. Based on an annual completed area of 5 million square meters, 200,000 tons of steel are needed, including 150,000 tons of cold-formed steel.
Points to note during the production of welding pipe machines:
1. Firstly, the elongation of the pipe is longer than manual welding, generally 4-5mm is optimal. Too long will reduce the weld penetration and the weld will not be aesthetically pleasing; too short will result in undercutting and pipe mouth damage.
2. Secondly, higher cleanliness requirements are needed for the pipes and pipe plates. The pipe plates should be cleaned with alkaline or organic solutions, and the pipes should be polished with sandpaper until a metallic luster is visible.
3. If the surface of the welded workpiece is not clean, pores will appear during welding, affecting the welding quality.
4. The bevel of the pipe material should not be too large, generally ≤2mm, preferably 1mm. If the bevel is too large, the pipe material is easily burned; if it is too small, the penetration will be insufficient.

Currently, cold-formed steel is mainly used in the following three areas:
Firstly, it is a major component of light steel industrial buildings (mostly single-story, some 2-3 stories), such as roof panels, wall panels, floor panels, beams, columns, purlins (roof and wall), supports, and window frames, etc. The general steel consumption is about 40 kg/square meter. Based on an annual completed area of 5 million square meters, 200,000 tons of steel are needed, including 150,000 tons of cold-formed steel;
Secondly, low-rise steel structure residential buildings (generally 3 stories or less). This is a large-scale construction project. If we calculate 1% of the 1.5 billion square meters of residential area completed annually nationwide, 600,000 tons of steel are needed, and it is possible to use 150,000 tons of cold-formed steel;
Thirdly, cold-formed steel needed in the construction field and municipal construction, such as road barriers, advertising stands, multi-story car parks, supermarkets, farmers' markets, and various temporary buildings, etc.
